About James Karpac

James Karpac picked up a camera as a teenager, shooting with a Brownie and a Kodak-Instamatic, but really became interested in photography when handed a Nikon Fe camera at a dental fraternity party back in college in 1978. Using the 35 mm format then and still today, the evolution of photography continues for James as well as in technical advances within the field itself. Using only Nikon equipment, James is fully digital and has been since 2001. All of the images you see here were taken in digital format. James photographs within The United States, and all over the world, capturing these images either as a part of a photography workshop or on his own. His love of the wilderness, people, and the Earth's natural beauty draws him to different parts of the world two to three times a year. He is particularly fond of Utah and its vast wilderness. The images shown here are just part of the larger portfolio in his archives. Currently he resides in Dublin, Ohio and practices orthodontics as his other art form.
